Memorial or Honor Gifts

A memorial gift made to Rogue Opera is a testimonial to the meaningfulness of a life that has passed on. An honor gift is a loving way to remember someone still living or a special occasion.

Rogue Opera recognizes the heartfelt tribute with which these gifts are made, and we have provided opportunities for such contributions. These are truly caring ways to honor those you love and hold dear to your heart, as well as make an investment in the lives of those who remain behind.

Honor gifts are a special way to acknowledge the important people living in your life. Honor gifts are often given on special occasions, such as the birthday, graduation, or anniversary of a friend or relative. They are also appropriate gifts for holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. Finally, honor gifts are often given to show appreciation for someone's kindness or to recognize their impact on your life.

Memorial gifts and honor gifts, like all donations to Rogue Opera, can be given by mail or by phone. Donors should be sure to indicate that their contribution is a memorial gift or honor gift and include the name(s) of those being memorialized or honored. Donors should also be sure to provide the names and addresses of anyone who they wish to receive an acknowledgment of their donation.

When a memorial or honor gift is received by Rogue Opera, a letter is sent to the donor to acknowledge the gift, as well as to any persons that the donor indicates should receive an acknowledgment letter. This may include the family of the deceased or the person being honored, informing them of your kindness. The card will show the name of the person being memorialized or honored and the name of the donor or donors. (The amount of the gift is not revealed). If a significant number of memorial or honor gifts are received in recognition of the same person(s), a special letter will be sent to the family informing them of all donations received, in order to help them with their record keeping.

Memorial and honor gift listings are printed in all Rogue Opera programs. Donations to Rogue Opera are tax-deductible under the Internal Revenue Code of the Internal Revenue Service for computing income and estate taxes. Rogue Opera is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
